Aine and James, Belleek Castle, April 2017
Belleek Castle – 7th April 2017
Motorbikes, kilts, and some very illegal parking, this was a wedding with a great sense of fun! Aine and James tied the knot on a crisp, dry day in early April in beautiful County Mayo. Morning prep saw the lads tog out in full Scottish formal wear, including the kilts and blades! Was there anything under the kilts? We’ve been sworn to secrecy I’m afraid 😉
The ceremony was in Castlebar’s main church with an entertaining, personal marriage ceremony from Father Mike, including a spot of improvised poetry! The trip up the town for a few drinks in The Irish House was wonderful chaos at its best, followed by lots of group pictures in the wonderful Belleek Woods. Belleek Castle itself is a wonderfully unusual, quirky venue, full of old world charm, and new age hospitality.
Fortunately the weather held and there was plenty of time for games outside on the lawns, along with more pictures! All in all, a great day was had by all. The dance floor was packed well into the evening and we were made feel incredibly welcome by everyone in the bridal party!
